Resource Website Releases Guide to Prepare Parents and Students with ASD for Higher Education
Affordable Colleges Online, a resource website with the two primary goals to make college more affordable and spread the importance of accreditation, has celebrated this year’s perspective on National Autism Awareness Month: April 2018 adopts a focus on ensuring acceptance and inclusion in schools and communities. In recognition and support of this much-needed movement, AC Online has dedicated a corner of its website exclusively to parents and students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The guide, entitled “Going to College with Asperger’s & Autism”, is cultivated by experts. Dr. Darren Sush, Clinical Psychologist and Behavior Analyst, and Dr. Crystal I. Lee, Psychologist, share tools based on the needs of those with ASD that will aid the transition to college. Two key sections of the guide include college success tips and the importance of self-advocacy.
