Alexis Pelt is a board-certified music therapist that works in Chicago Public Schools. She recently finished her internship working within a school setting with individuals ranging from 2.5-26 years old with a variety of cognitive, intellectual, and genetic disabilities and disorders. Alexis’s music therapy work is rooted in both cognitive behavioral and humanistic approaches, and she believes in the importance of building a strong-lasting therapeutic relationship with each of her clients and treating each client she comes in contact with, with unconditional positive regard. Alexis brings authenticity and empathy to each music therapy session. In her free time Alexis enjoys spending time with her family and three cats.
