Part Time Art Therapist
Andria Duncan is an Art Therapist at the Institute for Therapy through the Arts (ITA). She received her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Art Therapy from Adler University in Chicago, Illinois. Andria obtained a certificate in Early Childhood Education and graduated in 2014 from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Communicative Disorders with an emphasis in Speech-Language Pathology.
In her former position as an art therapy clinical intern at the Institute for Therapy through the Arts, Andria provided individual and group therapy services to diverse clients ranging from children to older adults. She organized and facilitated a community art project for individuals attending the First Presbyterian Church of Evanston’s Souper Saturday soup kitchen. In addition, Andria helped to co-create and co-facilitate ITA’s newest Adolescent Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)/ Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Art Therapy Group which launched in May 2018. Andria provides art therapy using a variety of therapeutic approaches that integrate creative art expression with person-centered treatment.
