Annie Arnold, MA, ATR, LCPC

Clinical Supervisor, Art Therapist

Annie (she/they) is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist who specializes in the treatment of trauma in adolescents and adults and serves as a champion of LGBTQ+ affirming care. As an ally to individuals who have been “othered,” Annie addresses the effects of toxic positivity and self-shaming in the healing process and brings a healthy dose of playfulness and humor into their unwavering positive regard for their clients. Annie utilizes a variety of art mediums with clients to facilitate deepening self-awareness, relational recovery, and posttraumatic growth.

“When we experience relational traumas, we heal in safe and supportive relationships. It is my belief that compassion and validation are instrumental in the relational healing process. During sessions, I utilize a combination of traditional verbal processing and art therapy directives through the lens of Insight-Oriented Therapy, psychoeducation, and Internal Family Systems. Over my years of practice, I have accompanied those who are struggling with depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress responses, suicidality, self-harming behaviors, dissociation, psychosis, relationship conflicts, sex and intimacy, gender dysphoria, and self-acceptance around LGBTQIA+ identities.

As an advocate for acceptance, it is my intention to create a safe, affirming space for clients to be their most authentic selves. Having spent the majority of my professional career working with those who have been economically disadvantaged, socially marginalized, and historically oppressed, I am committed to acknowledging the importance of intersectionality, decolonizing traditional therapy practices, challenging cis/heteronormative bias, client autonomy, and fostering a therapeutic relationship built on anti-oppressive values.

I feel extreme gratitude for doing this work. I would be honored to join in your healing journey as a companion and ally.”

Annie is currently accepting new clients.
