Open Letter from ITA Executive Director Jenni Rook
Dear ITA Clients, Families and Supporters,
We are sad to inform that the ITA office experienced a burst pipe on the evening of Wednesday, June 14. While we have not yet fully assessed the damages, we are fairly certain many of our musical instruments and therapy materials have been ruined. We also may have lost a great deal of office equipment. We will be working with our insurance company and landlord to try to replace everything, but know that could take a great deal of time.
As many of you are aware, we plan to relocate our office to 2130 Green Bay Avenue this fall. To read more about our new office, click here. The Budget for this move is $60,000; however, replacing our damaged supplies will now increase this expense to $70,000 or $80,000. ITA has just launched a capital campaign to raise money for our new home, and we need the support of our community now more than before.
You can make a difference by contributing any amount. Gifts can be made online or mailed to 1702 Sherman Ave., Evanston, IL 60201. Donors who give a minimum of $250 will have their names included on a permanent installation in the new office. If you are interested in learning about room naming opportunities or have in-kind goods and services to contribute, please contact me at (847) 448-8341 or jrook@itachicago.org.
ITA therapists are hoping to accommodate as many clients as possible at the Music Institute of Chicago’s Evanston East campus at 1490 Chicago Ave., Evanston, IL. We do not intend to suspend our services at any point in time and are finding creative ways to continue to operate. Therapists will continue to have access to their voicemail and email while the office is closed and are available to address any questions or concerns you have.
We are extremely grateful to the Evanston Community for their support and generosity during this difficult time. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to offer their assistance. We will continue to send updates as they are available.
Sincerely,
Jenni Rook
ITA Executive Director
