Are there changes being made in Creative Arts Therapy Training?

May 10, 2017 by ITA Staff

ITA Hosts a Professors’ Forum Panel at the 2nd Annual Integrated Creative Arts Therapy Conference to Discuss Recent Developments and Issues in Training and Education

In the last several years there has been much fodder regarding the ever-changing climate of the workplace and professional environments as result of the new generation’s job preparation and expectations. The “Millennial” phenomenon discussion transcends the Creative Arts Therapy community, but the impact is apparent in many training programs. In response, ITA is asking the big questions: Is there change happening in the University settings? Have there been successful changes made at the University level that training programs can adopt? What are some of the most significant areas of impact? What are the professors seeing and how can the field support them and their students?

ITA is pleased to announce our Professors’ Forum Panelists:

Jennifer Jones, Ph.D, MT-BC is an Associate Professor of Music and the Director of Music Therapy at Western Illinois University.

Jennifer La Civita, Psy.D, ATR is the Department Chair of the Master’s in Counseling: Art Therapy at Adler University

Randy Vick, LCPC, ATR-BC is an Associate professor in Master of Art in Art Therapy and Counseling at the School for the Art Institute

Jessica Young, BC-DMT, LCPC, GL-CMA is an Associate Professor of Creative Arts Therapies at Columbia College of Chicago
