ITA began a community partnership with the Jewish Child and Family Services of Chicago’s Therapeutic Day School in December. Students ranging from kindergarten through the eighth grade will receive group dance/movement therapy with ITA’s, Julie Brannen, MA, R-DMT, GL-CMA, on Mondays through the school year. JCFS operates on the principle that “a therapeutic environment for students with emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities requires meaningful participation from parents, mental health professionals, special needs educators, the community and the student themselves.” ITA is happy to join the innovative education team at JCFS and prepare to provide music therapy later in the year.
