Emily is a board-certified music therapist currently serving disabled and neurodivergent students in the Chicago Public Schools. Emily previously worked in New York City, where she specialized in early childhood and additionally served teens and young adults in a range of settings. Her music
therapy work is grounded in the idea of musical play; creating a space where clients can freely express themselves through musical exploration and creation within the therapeutic relationship. Emily received her Master’s of Music in Music Therapy at Ohio University and has additionally received advanced training in music psychotherapy. She completed her internship with the Louis Armstrong Center for Music and Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospitals, where she received special training on music therapy techniques for improving asthma, COPD and other breathing-related diagnoses. Outside of music therapy, Emily loves to go for long walks and hikes with her dog and husband, cook, and volunteer with dog rescues.
