Presented by Lauren Milburn, MA, R-DMT and Janelle Knippen
This workshop will locate dance/movement therapy and other creative arts therapies within the medical-industrial complex, naming the broader impact of clinician “burnout” and perpetuated power disparities for mental health service users. One co-presenter will share findings from her recent Master’s thesis research study exploring belonging and internalized oppression related to disability identity development within a dance/movement therapy graduate program. Participants will engage in an experiential to imagine and embody accessible and anti-oppressive mental health practices for collective-care within personal and clinical settings.
