ITA Partners with Chicago Camps and Summer Programs for 2017
This summer, ITA is thrilled to provide creative arts therapy (again!) at Camp Hope, Camp Kangaroo, Camp Neeka, and The Cove School. We hope you or your family will join us for one of these summer experiences that focus on support, growth, learning, and creativity.
Edward Cancer Center’s Camp Hope has been providing an annual week-long summer camp for the past 12 years. ITA will partner with Edward Cancer once again to provide music therapy for children ages 6-12, whose parent or grandparent is living with cancer.
Camp Kangaroo was created by Seasons Hospice Foundation for bereaved children who have experienced the death of someone close to them. ITA joins the camp once again as campers journey through grief, and embrace life, in a safe and supportive atmosphere.
Josselyn Center’s Camp Neeka is a six-week therapeutic summer day camp for children ages 8-12. ITA will once again provide dance/movement, drama, and music therapy.
The Cove School’s summer program partners with ITA by offering two classes: Triple Threat, and Music Videos, a collaboration between music therapy and music education programming that focuses on social and emotional learning through musical theater and music technology.
If you would like to include the Institute for Therapy through the Arts in your programming, please contact Jeffrey Wolfe, Community Programs Manager, at jwolfe@itachicago.org or by calling 847-448-8331.
