On Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 6 – 8 PM, Dance/Movement Therapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker will presenting the last webinar in our Creative Arts Therapy Series on Dance/Movement Therapy. Jessica Sittig, LCSW specializes in providing trauma informed clinical care to children and their families. Jessica was a recipient of a 2011-2012 Schweitzer Fellowship in which she developed a program to integrate dance and movement into trauma focused psychotherapy for children at La Rabida Children’s Hospital Chicago Child Trauma Center. Jessica also served as a mentor to the 2012-2013 class of Schweitzer Fellows. As an avid dancer and yogi, Jessica believes that integrating movement into therapy offers a unique and transformative approach in the healing process. Jessica’s warmth, verbal and non-verbal empathy, and client-centered approach serve as an invitation to join with her in the therapeutic process.
So join us next Wednesday evening for this insightful and engaging presentation on the history and basic tenets of dance/movement therapy (DMT). Participants will explore ways to ethically use these tenets within non DMT sessions and for your own self-care. The presenter will discuss ways that the therapists’ and clients’ bodies are ever present in psychotherapy, including a review of embodied cognitions. We look forward to you joining us!
