ITA Announces Move in Fall, 2017

Open Letter from Executive Director Jenni Rook Details ITA’s New Space

Dear ITA Clients, Families, and Supporters,

For more than 40 years ITA has worked in shared, multipurpose spaces that weren’t necessarily designed specifically for our specialized work.  I began my search for a new clinic space this past fall and toured many different locations throughout the Northshore.  It was difficult to find a space that meets our unique needs, but early this year, we stumbled upon a location that seemed to be the perfect fit. Our Board of Directors and several staff visited this space and all agreed it would make a wonderful new home for ITA.

I am thrilled to announce we will be moving to 2130 Green Bay Road in Evanston this September.  We will occupy the entire 2nd floor of the building which is located above a Social Security office.  There is ample parking, especially after 4pm and on weekends when we are most busy.

The space will be completely renovated with five therapy rooms designed optimally for creative arts therapy, privacy and accessibility.  We will have a private entrance which includes an ADA compliant elevator, private restrooms and therapy spaces set apart from our reception area.  I had the privilege of working with the landlord’s space planner to design a floor plan that will accommodate all our needs. Dr. Marni Rosen and Julie Mynatt were instrumental in ensuring the space will allow us to better serve our current clients and continue to grow our capacity to serve more clients.

As we approach these upcoming summer months, we will be sharing more information on the specific timing of the move.  We will soon be launching a fundraising campaign to secure the money necessary to make this transition and furnish the new space. We are also seeking in-kind donations. If you are interested in contributing to this campaign, click here. If you are interested in contributing goods and services, please contact our Development Manager, Sarah Ghantous at sghantous@itachicago.org.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you have.  I look forward to providing more information soon.

Sincerely,

Jenni Rook
