Dear Friends,
We have been monitoring the spread of COVID-19 and feel the responsible thing to do right now is to move our employees to remote work. We will be temporarily closing our clinics to the public and will refrain from sending our therapists to our community partner sites for the time being. We want to do our part to ensure the safety of our community and hope this level of social distancing will influence others to do the same. It is our intention to be back to normal operations as soon as possible based on the recommendations of the CDC and the Illinois Department of Public Health.
ITA therapists will be contacting their clients directly to discuss options for telehealth and offering therapy sessions via video conference and telephone. We will be putting policies and procedures in place to abide by HIPAA and confidentiality laws as closely as possible. We will also be exploring how we can offer virtual programs and trainings.
The Healing Arts Celebration scheduled for May 7th will be postponed and likely reformatted to be a virtual event. More information will be announced soon.
I am extremely grateful for the generosity of an anonymous donor who is supporting our operations while we work to determine how we will recoup the revenue we will lose from a dramatic decrease in our services. If you find yourself in a position to give, please consider making a donation to a nonprofit organization. We are not certain how long this period of social distancing will be necessary and how we will afford to operate if we are unable to resume all of our programs in the near future. One person can make an incredible difference in the life of many and ensure a future where there are organizations that still exist to make the world a better place.
