ITA Music Therapy Intern Bradley Drozdowski Presents at Illinois Student Assistance Commission

May 3, 2017 by ITA Staff

ITA Intern Bradley Drozdowski Presents to Illinois Student Assistance Commission on April 18 on Defining Music Therapy

Music Therapy intern Bradley Drozdowski gave a 60-minute presentation at the Illinois Student Assistance Commission in Deerfield, IL titled “An Introduction to Music Therapy.” ISAC is an organization dedicated to making college education more affordable and accessible for Illinois families. The staff at ISAC expressed an interest in learning about music therapy and sought out ITA to visit their facility and present.

Bradley’s presentation focused primarily on defining music therapy and addressed questions such as: Who is a music therapist? What does it take to become a music therapist? With whom do music therapists work? The audience was engaged in music experiences to help demonstrate the benefits of music therapy as Bradley lead a small group of volunteers in the “Shaker Passing Song” and a group lyric analysis of the song “Helplessness Blues” by Fleet Foxes.
