ITA Offers New Art Therapy Professionals a Supervision Group Towards Their Art Therapy Registration (ATR) Certification

January 2, 2018 by ITA Staff

Board-Certified Art Therapist and Practice Director Dr. Marni Rosen Facilitates Processes and Presentations

To be a registered art therapist, completing a Master’s Program is not enough. Newly-graduated students are required by the Art Therapy Credentialing Board (ATCB) to complete 1000 hours of direct art therapy services with 100 hours of supervision of these cases. Technically, the use of the term Art Therapist is reserved for individual needs who have completed their registration through ATCB or under the supervision of a Registered Art Therapist. In order to meet the needs of young professionals, ITA has expanded it’s professional development offerings to include a supervision group for those pursuing their registration. The group meets weekly on Monday evenings from 7:30-8:30 in Evanston. Dr. Marni Rosen, Psy.D ATR-BC, a Board-Certified Art Therapist facilitates and supervises the group using a combination of an arts based self-reflection process and clinical case presentations. The supervision group is open to new members and graduates can enter the group at any point following their training. Please contact Dr. Rosen at mrosen@itachicago.org for more information.
