ITA Welcomes its Fall 2017 Clinical Interns

August 15, 2017 by ITA Staff

Three New Clinical Internship Positions Start Early in August

With the summer winding down, ITA is excited to welcome both the fall season and the fall interns. Joining us this quarter are three brand new clinical interns who will gain first-hand experience as they take the final step in completing their training as creative arts therapists. This is a very distinctive group, as they will be present for the tail end of our MIC relocation, the temporary move back to our Sherman location, and the homecoming to our new offices at 2130 Green Bay. Read each intern’s bio below. We’re so happy they’re here! Welcome, new interns!

Andria Duncan is an Art Therapy Intern at ITA. She is in her final year of study in Adler University’s Master of Arts in Counseling: Art Therapy program. Andria is originally from Dixon, Illinois, which also happens to be the boyhood home of the former President Ronald Reagan. She has a certificate in Early Childhood Education and graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Communicative Disorders: Speech Pathology. A few of her interests include dancing, playing volleyball, and watching movies. Andria is excited to learn and collaborate with ITA’s additional creative art therapy modalities.

Clare Hogan is a Music Therapy Intern at ITA. She was born in Illinois, but raised in Portland, Oregon. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Percussion Performance degree from Oregon State University in 2014, and recently received her second bachelors degree, in Music Therapy, from Marylhurst University. Her personal interests include reading, going to live concerts, playing percussion in community bands, photography, and being out in nature. Clare is excited to be joining the team at ITA.

Ava Marvin is a Music Therapy intern at ITA. She is originally from Northern Virginia, but has been living in Charlotte, North Carolina the past 4 years majoring in music therapy, and minoring in theater performance and psychology at Queens University of Charlotte. In her spare time, Ava enjoys learning about and caring for the environment, practicing yoga, and playing guitar. Ava is so happy to be joining ITA as an intern!

Do you want to be an ITA intern like Andria, Clare, and Ava? We are now accepting applications for Winter 2017 internship positions! We offer programs for college students enrolled in accredited creative arts therapy degree programs as well as for those majoring in other fields. To learn more, click here.
