Dance/Movement Therapist – Fellow
Johanna is excited to begin her career at the Institute for Therapy through the Arts as a Dance/Movement Therapy Fellow. She received her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Arizona State University and her Master of Arts in Dance/Movement Therapy & Counseling from Columbia College Chicago. Johanna completed her clinical internship at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, where she worked with veterans struggling with a variety of mental illnesses including PTSD, depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and substance use. During her time at Jesse Brown, she spent a significant amount of time working with survivors of Military Sexual Trauma. Upon completion of her clinical internship she worked at Timberline Knolls, where she worked with individuals affected by eating disorders and substance use. Johanna believes in the power of creative expression in therapy and hopes to continue helping others find healing through the use of movement.
