Mackenzie is a board-certified music therapist currently working with neurodiverse students in Chicago Public Schools. She has experience working with neurodiverse children and teenagers in therapeutic day schools as well as public schools. She also has experience working with young and older adults in mental health groups and medical settings. Mackenzie’s goals for her clients are to find their voice through emotional and creative expression and most importantly self-advocacy.
Mackenzie received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Music Therapy at Wartburg College with a minor in Social Welfare. In her education experience, Mackenzie was also the vice president of her institution’s Black Student Union, sparking her drive to serve communities who are underrepresented. Outside of music therapy, Mackenzie enjoys spending time with her friends and family, to go to the gym, cook, practice playing instruments, and write her own music. She also loves her two cats very much!
