McKenna is an art therapist who utilizes a person-centered approach with an integration of dialectical behavior therapy. While in her master’s program, McKenna completed her internship at Linden Oaks Behavioral Health Hospital and worked with adults and adolescents as well as a variety of mental health diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, and addiction. McKenna has several years of experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. She views art therapy as a creative process that can boost self-confidence, assist with emotional regulation, encourage self-expression, and promote mindfulness. Outside of her role as a therapist, McKenna enjoys nature, cooking, and spending time with her dog and family.
