He has multiple years of experience working with neurodiverse and neurotypical children, adolescents, and adults as a former art teacher, private tutor, and university behavioral analysis assistant.
Nolan’s art therapy approach focuses on building meaningful therapeutic relationships with clients while fostering a space to promote emotional healing and safety. He is drawn towards an integrative approach that is client focused and incorporates aspects of person-centered therapy, existentialism, humor, and strengths-based approaches. He views art therapy as a therapeutic process that can promote mindfulness, allow others to emotionally express themselves in nonverbal ways, provide an outlet for therapeutic healing, and further clients well-being. Therapy is a journey that the client and therapist share together while learning from each other and helping clients navigate their unique challenges. In his spare time, Nolan enjoys art making with all media, snowboarding, and being in nature.
