Nolan is a 2023-2024 art therapy intern and working closely with the incredible clinical therapists of ITA. He graduated from University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and is a current graduate student at Adler University pursuing a Master of Arts in Counseling and Art Therapy. He has multiple years of experience working with children and adolescents as a former art teacher and private tutor.
Nolan’s art therapy approach focuses on building meaningful therapeutic relationships with clients while fostering a space to promote emotional healing and safety. While currently a student and exploring which modalities will serve others best in his blossoming career in art therapy, Nolan is drawn towards an integrative approach that is client focused and incorporates aspects of person-centered therapy, existentialism, and strengths-based approaches. He views art therapy as a therapeutic process that can promote mindfulness, allow others to emotionally express themselves in nonverbal ways, provide an outlet for therapeutic healing, and further clients well-being. In his spare time, Nolan enjoys art making with all media, snowboarding, and being in nature.
