TaNica is a dedicated art therapist serving students within the Chicago Public Schools. TaNica holds a Master of Science in Art Therapy from Florida State University. While in her master’s program, TaNica’s internships included working with at-risk and neurodiverse students in the school setting in Florida, as well as providing group art therapy to children and adolescents at summer camp in Grenada. Her experience also spans to psychiatric settings, where she worked with adults and children who had varying mental diagnoses such as addiction, psychosis, anxiety, and depression.
As a woman of color, TaNica is deeply committed to integrating culturally sensitive interventions into art therapy. Her goal is to foster community-building and support identity formation amongst her clients.
Outside of her professional life, TaNica finds joy in crocheting, reading, and watching movies.
