Meet Your Presenter:
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a dual Master’s degree in Counseling and Art Therapy from Adler University. I have experience working with children, adolescents and young adults in individual and group therapy settings including residential, partial hospitalization, mobile crisis response, and outpatient.
Prior to entering graduate school through my own lived experience, it became abundantly clear to me there is not enough education or awareness about eating disorders readily available to both the public and professionals. I made it my mission to become an advocate for eating disorders, helping to dismantle diet culture, and create safe spaces for folx to process and heal from the second most deadly illness – second only to opioid abuse.
I believe in the importance of the connection we have with ourselves, our bodies, minds, and loved ones. When this connection is interrupted, it prevents us from living our most meaningful and genuine lives. I have found success in exploring the internal narratives we create through our own lived experiences by providing a safe, non-judgmental space through compassion, empathy, curiosity, humor, and genuine human connection. Through my expertise in art therapy, I have seen the transformative power of art as a tool to reconnect the mind and body in a safe way.
