Did you know, ITA trains at least four creative arts therapy interns each year?
Allow us to introduce the newest additions to the ITA clinical internship program!
Alexandra Wilson is a music therapy intern from Cincinnati, Ohio. She completed her undergraduate work in music therapy at Ohio University and studied voice as her primary instrument. Alexandra is passionate about education, diversity and research in music therapy. In her senior year, she completed a research project on music therapy students’ preparedness and training to work with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) clients. She is excited to begin her work at ITA and will be with us until March.
John Head grew up in Houston, Texas and attended Texas State University where he studied jazz with Butch Miles of Count Basie fame. Eventually John entered into the armed forces and played in the Navy music program from 2009-2014. During this time John was stationed in the Seattle area playing in concert band, rock band, New Orleans brass band, and jazz performing units in the Pacific Northwest. John recently completed his course work for music therapy at Colorado State University. John is looking forward to working at the ITA through March!
Alex Kulikowski is the new Art Therapy Intern at ITA. She is currently working towards her Masters in Counseling and Art Therapy at Adler University. Alex is excited to learn more about Music, Dance/Movement, and Drama Therapy and how they can interact with Art Therapy and with each other. She enjoys using charcoal as her favorite art medium, however lately her favorite material has been watercolor. Alex will be working with ITA until August 2017.
Through ITA’s clinical internship program, creative arts therapy students gain experience in the field, collaborate with professionals and can fulfill certification requirements. Our clinical interns observe and provide services with supervision from our staff of credentialed creative arts therapists.
