ITA is excited to welcome our newest board member, Terrie Briggs.
Terrie Briggs was an elementary school teacher at Baker Demonstration School, former laboratory school of National-Louis University, for twenty-five years. She received her EdD in Reading and Language and was a tenured faculty member at National-Louis University. Terrie has started and supervised various literacy intervention programs in elementary schools, has worked in various clinics in city and rural areas, and has supervised university students who have become reading specialists and classroom teachers. Since 2005, she has been an adjunct faculty member at Northwestern University in the School of Education and Social Policy Graduate School. Terrie’s literacy expertise extends to adolescent and adult readers as well. In addition, Terrie is the founder of Banner Literacy which clinical programs support students in becoming skilled readers and writers through an integrated literacy program.
