Treat yourself to a day of reflection and rejuvenation through yoga, art, drumming, and laughter! After the opening circle, you will begin your day with a morning vinyasa. Then you will learn how to use art and writing to capture your daily experiences through art journaling. Your HealthRHYTHMS drumming experience will be focused on rejuvenation and stress reduction. Your day will conclude with Laughter Yoga, using breathing and laughter exercises to promote playfulness and relaxation.

Start your day with this slow flow yoga class. You will be guided through gentle poses, bringing awareness to your entire body through mindful movement and breathing.
Jenni Rook is a certified yoga instructor who also serves as the Executive Director of the Institute for Therapy through the Arts. Jenni completed her 200hr level training at Yogaview in Chicago. As a music therapist and licensed counselor, Jenni brings mindfulness practice into her work with clients and vows to make a 2017 a year of living more in the present moment every day.
Daily journaling has been linked to the success of many leading executives and professionals. Begin your journal with Marni Rosen as you learn how to use art and writing to capture your daily experiences. Participants will leave the retreat with their own journal and how to tips to make journaling part of your regular routine. Marni is a registered and board-certified art therapist and clinical psychologist who specializes in the use of visual art for promoting wellness and healing.
In the afternoon, you will experience empowerment and rejuvenation through the evidence based HealthRHYTHMS® group drumming program. This program uses recreational music making to bring awareness to your own creativity and how your creativity can positively affect your environment. Jeffrey Wolfe is a trained HealthRHYTHMS facilitator and music therapist. A percussionist with over 25 years of experience, he began his love of drum circle empowerment at the age of 15 with World Renowned facilitator Arthur Hull.
You will conclude your day of retreat with Laughter Yoga, created by Dr. Madan Kataria, which uses breathing and laughter exercises to promote health, playfulness, and relaxation. Andra Duncan is a certified Laughter Yoga leader and board certified music therapist, serving as the Training Coordinator at the Institute for Therapy through the Arts. “Laughter Yoga is combination of deep breathing exercises from yoga and laughter exercises, which oxygenates our body and brain and makes us feel more healthy and energetic.” (laughteryoga.org)
