Yuqing (Ching) Ren is an emerging art therapist from China, studying art therapy and counseling at the School of Art Institute of Chicago. Her specialization is in facilitating self-exploration and self-awareness among adolescents. Currently, she tends to Chicago’s South Side public schools, applying art therapy to help children with autism and ADHD.
Through therapeutic collaboration, she has worked with home-bound seniors, dementia patients, and with those in mental health programs. Yuqing uses innovative art materials and guidance to help individuals manage life stressors, enhance communication skills, and personal well-being. Her goal is to apply art therapy in a variety of settings to support individuals and communities and improve overall health.
Yuqing enjoys traditional Chinese ink painting, paper-cutting, and lantern-making in her free time.
