Institute for Therapy through the Arts

Create. Grow. Heal.

Cara Paden, MM, MT-BC

Cara is a board-certified music therapist with years of experience in the mental health field and specializes in substance abuse, sexual/gender issues, and neurodiversity. Cara has experience working in outpatient and inpatient behavioral health hospitals as well as rehab centers for substance use. Cara is also a sound healer and believes that our body, mind, and soul can be impacted through the use of sound and music.

Cara is working with neurodiverse students within the Chicago Public Schools and provides private telehealth sessions. In the future, Cara hopes to contribute to scholarly work by researching more about how music impacts the brain and body. Outside of music therapy, she enjoys hiking, reading, crafting, and spending time with her bulldog, Bella.

Cara is currently accepting new clients.
