Miriam is an art therapist currently working with neurodiverse students in Chicago Public Schools and private therapy clients in Evanston. They have experience working with neurodiverse and disabled children, adolescents, and adults in private and community settings, as well as children and adults who have experienced the trauma of violence.
Miriam’s goals for their clients are rooted in self-expression, empowerment, self-advocacy, and autonomy. They are committed to building an intersectional therapeutic lens that perceives individuals as the multifaceted and experienced beings they are, capable of enacting transformation personally and in the communities in which they live.
Miriam received their Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). Outside of art therapy, Miriam loves to engage in hiking and backpacking with their spouse and dog, drawing and painting, screen printing, dancing, making ceramics, and exploring queer and BIPOC spaces in Chicago.
