Neurologic Music Therapist
Brad is a part-time music therapist at the Institute for Therapy through the Arts and a former music therapy intern at ITA. Brad received his Bachelors in Music Therapy from Eastern Michigan University (EMU) before moving to Chicago for his internship in 2017. Prior to his internship at ITA, Brad worked as a behavior technician with young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) center at EMU. In 2015, Brad was awarded the esteemed Brehm Fellowship in Music Therapy, a privilege awarded to the top music therapy students at EMU for their devotion to improving the lives of people with special needs. In his research period for the Brehm Fellowship, Brad began work on an early prototype of an original music drama theatre program for use with young children with ASD in ABA programs, a program that showcased his passions for music composition and improvisation. Brad enjoys collaboration and is eager to explore new avenues for multi-modal approaches to creative arts therapy. His clinical experience includes working with people with a variety of disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental disabilities, Parkinson’s disease, and at-risk youth. Brad is very excited to be continuing with ITA as a brand new Music Therapist!
