Neurologic Music Therapist
Brad is a full-time music therapist and Volunteer Coordinator with Institute for Therapy through the Arts. Brad completed coursework for his bachelors in Music Therapy from Eastern Michigan University (EMU) in 2016 before moving to Chicago to complete his Music Therapy internship at ITA in 2017. Prior to his internship at ITA, Brad worked as a behavior technician with young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) center at EMU. In 2015, Brad was awarded the esteemed Brehm Fellowship in Music Therapy, a privilege awarded to the top music therapy students at EMU. During the research period for his Fellowship, Brad began work on an early prototype of an original music drama program for use with young children with ASD in ABA programs, a program that showcased his passion for music composition and improvisation. Following the completion of his internship, Brad traveled to Cleveland, OH to complete the Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) training and was awarded his board-certification in Music Therapy from the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT). In 2019, Brad was accepted into the Foundations Certificate Training Program in Existential-Humanistic Therapy through the Existential-Humanistic Institute (E-HI) in Sonoma, CA, which Brad is currently pursuing as he follows his love of existentialism and philosophy.
