At ITA, we stand firmly against harm and violence in any form. We do not condone actions that undermine safety, dignity, or justice. Our mission is to empower individuals and communities to heal and grow—across Evanston, throughout Chicago, and beyond.
But today, that mission is under threat. Harm comes in many forms: Censorship. Corruption. Scientific misinformation. Intimidation. Harassment. Silencing of those most in need. Family separation. That’s why we stand with Evanston and Chicago community leaders as they speak out against injustice, push back against harm, and fight for the rights and dignity of every person.
Because when we come together, one voice becomes many.
At ITA, we support real action—action that builds healthier lives, safer communities, systemic justice, and a space of welcome for all. That means access to mental and physical healthcare, stable housing, good jobs, and education that keeps kids learning and away from violence.
Research is clear: constant exposure to violence increases PTSD, anxiety, and behavioral challenges. It leads to lower academic performance and long-term harm for students. We are committed to breaking that cycle.
We’re expanding access to therapy and partnering with nonprofits and community leaders to bring care directly to those who need it most. Eliminating long wait times by creating pipelines to crisis support partnerships.
People with disabilities deserve compassion—not resistance—especially in emergencies. In the face of fear, expression and communication are challenging, and the arts provide a streamlined solution. We will continue to advocate for inclusive, trauma-centered responses from first responders and law enforcement.
ITA will always be a champion for mental health, integrity, and human dignity. We’re here to help our communities navigate stress and anxiety, to ensure everyone feels seen, and to keep building a future where healing is possible—for all.
If you or someone you know is struggling, you are not alone.
Healing begins with connection – and we’re here to help.
