Sarah Wiemeyer Announces ITA Board Membership
It is my absolute pleasure to serve as the Institute for Therapy through the Arts new board chair. I have a long history with ITA, and I look forward to supporting the organization in a new and meaningful way. As a former employee and music therapist of ITA (albeit quite some years ago), I know the power of the arts as a path towards discovery, change, and recovery. As a former member of the Advisory Council, I know the strength of ITA’s leadership in business as shown throughout our separation from the Music Institute of Chicago. And most recently as chair of the Strategic Planning Committee of the board, I share ITA’s future vision to dictate best practices of Creative Arts Therapy at a national level by providing high quality service to our clients and community and through leadership in healthcare and social services.
I hope that all of you will join us on this journey by providing your ongoing support… learning more about the work of ITA’s therapists, sharing your stories about ITA and the power of the arts as therapy, referring people to our clinic, advocating for better access to our services, volunteering and participating in ITA special events, and participating in our fundraising efforts. Most importantly, stay in touch with the ITA family! I know that the work we do will continue to inspire you and change you. The work still inspires and changes me, even after 10+ years.
