The Institute for Therapy through the Arts was founded in 1975 by Marilyn “Toddy” Richman—a visionary music therapist and educator who believed deeply in the power of the arts to heal. A pioneer in creative arts therapy, Toddy helped shape the early field of arts in health care and established ITA to support emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being through music, drama, art, and movement.
